Send your own announcements

 

We encourage emailed announcements or use of our Facebook Page or website, rather than taking precious time at Chapter Meetings. 

 

We also no longer maintain a Gmail list of all our members. To send an announcement to the group, you can do it yourself from the UUMA.org website.

COMMUNICATION INFO

In order to receive our communications and to send a message to the chapter email listserv, you MUST have the Chesapeake Chapter listed as your primary chapter on your UUMA.org profile. 

TO CHANGE YOUR CHAPTER ON UUMA.ORG

1. Login to UUMA.org

2. Click "My Groups" in the gold "My Profile" box on the right

3. Scroll down to group permissions and select "Chapter" 

4. Pick the correct chapter (in our case, Chesapeake); click on it

5. When that chapter page opens, click "Join Group" near the top.

Once you've joined the right Chapter as your primary group, you can delete whichever other chapter you've been listed under. 

TO SEND EMAILS TO THE GROUP

The CUUMA Secretary will  monthly reminders about CUUMA meetings and events. For all other announcements, especially time-sensitive ones, please send them yourself to the group.

Note: Flyers and other attachments cannot be emailed. Only text. 

Here's how:

1. Login to UUMA.org

2. Click "My Groups" in the gold "My Profile" box on the right

3. Select "Chapter: Chesapeake Chapter" in purple

4. When our chapter page opens, click the icon near the top that looks like a wrench and says "Options", then select "Email All Group Members."

5. Compose email, putting at the top of the message the phrase "THIS EMAIL SENT VIA CUUMA LISTSERV" to let folks know it's not a private email to them alone.

6. Preview email, submit email.

TO HAVE THE CUUMA SECRETARY DO IT FOR YOU

If you have an (text only) announcement you want added to the monthly announceent email (not time-sensitive), email cuuma.secretary@gmail.com with the subject line: "Announcement to send to CUUMA" - This lets the secretaty know to include it in announcements, and that it's not just another email in the Secretary inbox.
